Alphington Aged Care provides true "person centred
care" for 45 residents in a serene low care setting.
Alphington Aged Care Map...
The care and services at Alphington aged care are designed
with the individual in mind. The multi-disciplinary care team
work hard to make each and every resident feel like The Alphington
is their home.
Each of Alphington's residents individual needs are identified
and unconditional attention is provided to each resident. All
of the staff are dedicated individuals, who maintain the balance
of knowing when to provide assistance and when to encourage independence.
It is the attention to the “little things” that enhances the quality
of life at The Alphington. The comfort and wellbeing of
each resident is of primary concern. Because it is recognized
that every resident is a unique individual with unique care needs,
care and therapy programs are tailored to meet each resident’s
physical, social and psychological requirements.
Doctors are on 24 hour call. Medication, nutrition and dietary
needs are carefully supervised. Meals are prepared with the freshest
ingredients in Alphington's own kitchen. Physiotherapy,
podiatry, occupational therapy, and regular exercise programs
assist residents to maintain their physical independence.
Ageing in place means that residents who may after a time need
a higher level of care may remain in the home.
Close to shops, public transport, golf and bowling club. Panoramic
views across Darebin creek and parklands provide a tranquil vista
complementing The Alphington’s private gardens and courtyards.
45 delightfully elegant large bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom,
are fully furnished but residents are welcome to bring treasured
belongings and furniture with them. All bedrooms look out onto
garden areas.
Some bedrooms have private balconies overlooking parklands and
some look out onto tranquil private courtyards. We are proud to
have achieved our three years accreditation for all 44 standards
of care.
Devoted, and friendly team of qualified Personal Carers, attend
regular training sessions to ensure they are keeping up with current
best practice and continually improving on the standard of care.

Regular Activities
at Alphington
When a new resident is admitted to Alphington, a welcome lunch
is provided to the resident's family to meet the staff.
Every Tuesday a bus takes residents for an outing. Destinations
vary and have included Docklands, Southbank, StKilda Pier, Ivanhoe
plaza.
Yoga every Wednesday morning.
Choir once a month
Manicures and hand massages every Thursday.
Art Therapy every fortnight with Nette, an experienced art therapist.
Walking group once a week.
