Craigcare St James and the complex consists of a nursing
home and two independent living houses. The nursing home has achieved
three year Accreditation and provides high level care to eighty
five residents. The independent living houses cater for eight
residents.
The nursing home includes eleven single bedrooms, twenty-three
double bedrooms and seven four-bed bedrooms. There are lounge
areas attached to each of the six sections of the nursing home.
Bathroom and toilet facilities are easily available in all areas.
Craigcare St James is a secure nursing home and enjoys
spacious accessible grounds and landscaped gardens. Residents,
visitors and staff are able to enjoy the beautiful surrounds.
For residents requiring a secure environment these gardens provide
safe walking paths with sheltered seating areas.
There are specially trained and skilled staff to meet the varying
needs of residents.
These include:
Registered nurses.
Psychiatric registered nurses.
Registered nurses with additional qualifications in management,
education, gerontology, palliative care, continence management
and infection control.
Enrolled nurses and nursing assistants are valued members of the
team.
Allied health staff include:
Physiotherapy.
Occupational Therapy.
Podiatry.
Other services as required e.g. speech therapy, aromatherapy.
Medical care is provided by doctors of the residents' choosing.
Extensive activities programme including: outings, concerts, and
individual programmes. On site catering and laundry.
All members of the health care team work together with the residents
and their families to establish an individualized plan of care
that caters to the differing needs of each resident.
The two independent houses forming part of the complex provide
accommodation for people wanting a supportive home environment
where their meals and housekeeping are taken care of, but they
continue to live as independently as they wish.
They also provide accommodation for husbands and wives whose partner
resides in the nursing home.
