Hawthorn's Victoria Gardens is a magnificent and stately residence
which has been enhanced to provide accommodation and care for a select
number of elderly residents in this leafy and well located suburb
of Melbourne.
Being a respected supported residential service (SRS), Hawthorn's
Victoria Gardens will be ideally suitable for your elderly loved one
if they are lonely, not eating as regularly as you would like, not
taking their medications because of forgetfullness or you have some
concerns about their ongoing safety and security.
Your family will then be able to relax in the peace of mind that your
relative or friend is in a caring environment for 24 hours every day.
In turn, your loved one will be able to share their days in the company
of other residents in a number of regular activities organised during
each week.
There is no accommodation bond to pay and the weekly fees are very
affordable, ranging from $495 to $695 per week. There are 27 resident
bedrooms at Victoria Gardens, and 4 of those rooms can accommodate
2 residents.
The management and staff of Hawthorn's Victoria Gardens are all dedicated
to ensuring that your relative or friend receives a superior level
of accommodation and care. Kaye Yemm, the Personal Care Manager, resides
in the facility. Damian Meagher, the Proprietor, is approachable and
is always keen to make sure that residents are comfortable and enjoying
the Victoria Garden's lifestyle. All resident's requests are listened
to and given attention by Damian. Damian's mother is a resident at
Victoria Gardens.

Activities
Many activities are provided for residents including sherry at 5pm,
happy hour on Fridays, current affairs discussions on Wednesdays,
bus trips on Thursday and Fridays, light exercise on Fridays, games
with weekly prizes and of course birthdays, grand final week, the
Melbourne Cup, Christmas and Easter celebrations.

Fees and Charges
There are no upfront fees, such as an accommodation bond, required

Families are only required to pay a weekly fee, which ranges from
$495 to $695 per week.
The management of Victoria Garden's are very confident that you will
enjoy the benefits of their facility. So much so that they currently
have a policy in place whereby if new residents are not completely
happy with the home they are free to leave after one week, with absolutely
no charge for that week. For residents that stay longer than one month
the first week is free from fees.

Nursing Home type care in a Guest House Setting
If you are considering the benefits of SRS accommodation, we highly

caring SRS. We visited the Victoria Gardens SRS facility on the 27th
July 2005.
Hawthorn's Victoria Gardens is registered and monitored by the Department
of Human Services.
