Family Information Session

The information session helps the family understand the process, identify quality alternatives and develop the plan for placement. The information session provides welcomed peace of mind to the family that all items have been considered. We usually conduct the session in the comfort and privacy of the family home.

Don't have time for the personalised consult? you may like to consider our fast response "selection of aged care homes" or "completing the placement service" instead.

This plan developed during the consultation can support the family to continue with the placement activities using mainly their own time and energy.

The family information session is ideally suited to family members with time and energy to be personally involved with all of the activities required to complete the placement.

This service consists of a meeting with the family. An dedicated and experienced placement consultant visits with the family for a period between 1.5 and 2 hours.

The placement consultant will listen to the family member(s) describe the detailed family needs and progressively document a summary of those needs.

The placement consultant will continue to describe the usual steps to be completed, make the family aware of many useful hints and guidelines and answer any questions that the family may have about aged care.

The placement consultant is able to provide the family with all of the current rules and effective strategies relating to aged care placement. Topics included during the family information session will include: " aged care options available, " financial considerations, " questions about power-of-attorney and guardianship " emotional support issues.

The family information session is usually conducted in the comfort and privacy of the family home. Under some circumstances, the placement consultant will use a portable computer to reinforce the information presented.

This service is a very effective way to develop a plan which can form a solid basis for a successful placement.

The fee for the information session is payable on the day of the consultation.

The major benefit of this service is that it enables all family members to make an excellent start based upon professional knowledge and experience and the cost of the service is affordable.
