The Information Privacy Act 2000 came into effect on 1 September 2002. The Act covers all personal information except health information in the public sector. This Act adopts ten Information Privacy Principles which are based on the NPPs set out in the Privacy Act. Some changes were made to these principles to adapt them to the ublic sector context.

The ealth Records Act came into effect from 1 July 2002. This Act covers the handling of all personal information held by health service providers in the State public sector and also applies to acts or practices in the private sector that are not covered by the Privacy Act . This includes any information about a person's health or disability, information about the donation of body parts, organs or substances, and genetic information.

Our privacy policy describes how we collect, use, store and disclose information obtained from your use of the site. Upon visiting and using the site you are, by implication, agreeing with the practices and guidelines described in this privacy policy. We endeavour to keep our server free from unauthorised access and use by means of physical security at the premises in which the server is housed, and by using protocols and measures to prevent unauthorised remote access to the server. However no Internet server nor any data transmitted over the Internet can be assured of security and there is always a risk of unauthorised access to information. Although we will take all reasonable steps to maintain security of information provided, we cannot be held liable for events arising from unauthorised access.
