The Royal
Freemasons' Homes of Victoria Ltd is a leading non-government, not-for-profit
provider of aged care services in Victoria with a proud history of aged care spanning
138 years.
One of the things that sets RFHV apart is a recognition of
individual needs and preference. RFHV is committed to remain at the forefront
of developments in aged care and aim to continue to provide a range of quality
options. This includes a broad involvement in research and the development of
best practice guidelines relating to the health and care of the elderly. These
programs, which include both residential, and community care, are driven by residents'

History:
The Royal Freemason's Homes of Victoria was established in 1867
in response to a growing need within an ageing masonic community.
Through the ensuing years, care and comfort has been provided
for close to 10,000 elderly Victorians. The Homes' facilities
and services are available to all Victorians, irrespective of
their background or beliefs, and have been for the past 50 years.
The Homes is one of Victoria's largest aged care providers.
Cause: Accommodation and care needs for the aged in Victoria.
Purpose: To assist our elderly clients to live a secure,
dignified and rewarding life through the provision of a range
of quality care and accommodation options.
Activities: The Homes provides hostel, nursing homes,
dementia care, independent units, specialised day therapy services
and preventative research into aged care, as well as assistance
to those who prefer to remain in their own homes.
As at 30 June 2006, there were 160 residents in hostels,
230 in independent units and 307 in nursing homes. Properties
include Coppin Community Hostel, Centennial House Lodge, Darvall
Lodge, Colbran Lodge, Gregory Lodge, Princess Hill Village and
independent units at Ballarat, Coburg, Geelong, Mooroopna, Sunraysia,
Swan Hill, Wangaratta and Windsor
